John Dingell, who represents Michigan's 12th congressional district, is set to retire this year. John has served in congress since 1955 when he took over the seat that was held by his father. Of course, when you serve the public for almost 6 decades, you get to be there for a lot of huge moments such as the civil rights act, title IX and a myriad of military operations by the United States.
